- Industry-Leading ESG Scores: Karex achieved perfect 5.0/5 ratings in both Social and Governance themes, alongside a 4.4/5 in Environment, marking a steady rise from its 3.2 overall score in 2020.
- Circular Rubber Devulcanization: In partnership with Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, Karex developed an additive-free, zero-waste devulcanization process to recycle rejected condoms into rubber crepes and flakes for footwear, mats, and automotive use—processing up to 90 metric tonnes monthly.
- By-Product Upcycling & Waste Diversion: Total waste diverted from disposal rose by 85% to 255 MT in 2024. Additionally, 22 MT of production glass is recycled annually, while dust powder and filter cake are being trailed with Universiti Putra Malaysia as potential biofertilizers.
- Rooftop Solar Expansion: Operations went live on a 2.2 MWp solar installation at Innolatex in Thailand (offsetting 26,000 tons of CO2 annually) and a 189 kW system in Malaysia, generating substantial cost and carbon savings.
- Sustainable Packaging & Ethical Sourcing: The company has reduced plastic content by up to 40% using paper-foil pouches and recyclable greyback boxboard, alongside sourcing FSC-certified paper and supporting fair rubber supply chains.
