Karex goes solar powered in Thailand

Karex, Pasante Healthcare's parent company, have launched its first rooftop solar project at Innolatex (Thailand) Limited in Hat Yai - a milestone in Karex’s ESG journey toward clean, responsible manufacturing. In partnership with Levanta Renewables, the 2.2 MWp solar system is expected to be operational by Q1 2026.

Over 15 years, it will generate approximately 44 GWh of clean energy, enough to produce over 1 billion condoms using renewable power. This shift is expected to offset 26,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to the footprint of 300 million plastic bottles or removing 5,000 petrol cars from the road.

The Karex group is proud to be investing in long-term resilience, strengthening our supply chain while supporting Thailand’s national energy roadmap. Phase two is already in exploration, and Karex are evaluating similar initiatives in Malaysia.
